Summary

The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationships between problem structures and thinking processes of junior high school students' Logo programming. I prepared three types of problem structures : non-diffusion problem, method diffusion problem, and goal diffusion problem. One hundred and twenty 3rd grader junior high school students divided into 3 groups were given each type of problem.Their reflections of thinking processes during programming to solve the problem were analyzed. The main results were as follows:
1)The reflection of thinking processes for contrasting monitoring by the males between goal and situation were
promoted in the method diffusion problem.
2)The reflection of thinking processes for problem understanding and local monitoring by the high create-ability
students were obstructed in the non-diffusion problem.
3)The reflection of thinking processes for broad monitoring and renewal of problem representation by the high
flexibility students were obstructed in the non-diffusion problem.
4)The reflection of thinking processes for designing the program by the low flexibility students were obstructed in
  the goal diffusion problem.
These results suggested that the diffuse types of the problem structures made cognitive ATIAptitude Treatment Interaction to junior high school students learning about Logo programming.
